The weeks are flying by, and the 2025 Coffeeneuring Challenge is near its midpoint. Have you been on the fence about taking on the challenge? Well, hop off the fence and start riding because if you start this weekend you still have enough time to become an official finisher!
The early birds will begin making it across the official finish line this weekend, and I’ll also be putting up the finishers form in the next couple of days. So if you’ve looked for it and can’t find it, it’s because it doesn’t yet exist. I’ll announce when we complete and post that.
Now that we’ve covered housekeeping matters, I couldn’t let Halloween pass by without a roundup so without further ado, let’s get to it.

Coffeeneuring stalwart Annie Bikes drinks tea while painting at Colchester Overlook in Vermont. Pure fall!

Paul L. and friends headed out into the fall foliage to ride and share stories of a friend in their riding group who recently died. This ride passed by the Willamette River in Oregon. Paul completed the challenge with this ride, but says he’s now going on to c+1 rides. Yes!

Remember how we shared about the high honesty factor with coffeeneurs? Tim J posted this ride and noted that it was a DNC (does not count) ride because he did not drink a coffeeneuring-approved beverage (a non-coffee infused beer) and he already had reached the two-ride weekly maximum. Coffeeneurs are the best!

Still, it looks like it was a great day to pedal through a sea of gold in Salisbury Plain and really, how many coffeeneurs pass Stonehenge during their coffeeneuring rides (!!!).

Back in California, Lynda and team pedaled to a Handlebar Cafe location in Santa Barbara. This shop was started by former pro cyclists Aaron Olsen and Kim Anderson. Coffee and bikes, what’s not to love?

One of the more unique bicycles in this year’s challenge is the no-seat standing bike that Ronald L has been riding around Washington state. That’s right, there’s no seat – on purpose! This is from a recent stop along the Sammamish River Trail.

Meanwhile over in Saratoga, New York, Corrine B rode eight miles to Spa State Park for an Americano and a cinnamon bun at The Bread Basket. This bakery invests its profits back to the community, and I am definitely putting it on my To Be Coffeeneured (TBC) list.

I couldn’t let a Halloween-themed post go by without some Halloween decor in the mix. Also, since skeletons seem to be the decoration de jeur this year, it was fun to see a werewolf making an appearance. This photo is from an October ride hosted by the Indiana Randonneurs.

Paula N. in Helsinki, Finland, is one of a few who end up doing twilight or later coffeeneuring outings. This is from her recent visit to Café Marocco in Töölö, Helsinki. Not pictured? The apple pie with vanilla custard and cup of coffee. Delicious!
- Shorter days? Check.
- Falling leaves? Check.
- Rain-dampened streets? Check.
- Still coffeeneuring? Check!
Happy Halloween all, and keep riding! We love seeing all the posts and documentation of your adventures.
